Belles of the ball Pick Up Award at British Bridal Wear Awards 2003

Wedding Belles, the Anglesey bridal wear retailer, have a won an award at the British Bridal Wear Awards 2003, 17th March.“It was like a night at the Oscars for us, we smiled all evening it’s so exciting” said Diane Roberts, proprietor of Wedding Belles.

Their web site won the award for ‘Best Web Site Design’ this looks at numbers of hits, layout and how the site has contributed to Wedding Belles success. The site, designed by Llanfair’s John Griffith of Grifam Ltd, is an effective way of reaching customers. “Living in a rural community it is important that everyone can see our commitment to creating the most beautiful brides, before maybe travelling many miles,” states Diane Roberts.

The award was presented by Stuart Hall both Diane and Fiona felt rather overwhelmed at the attention that they received. “We where both laughing and jumping up and down. At a rather proper and formal event we couldn’t help but show our excitement,” enthuses Fiona. “The following day at the trade exhibition everyone was congratulating us. We feel so proud to bring the award home to North Wales.”

It is an exciting time for Diane and her manager Fiona Roberts. In November 2003 they became full members of the ‘Retail Bridal Wear Association’, only 150 retailers are members out of a possible 3,500 outlets nationwide. Rigorous checks are carried out and members have to give a dedicated and independent service, Diane says that she has worked hard to become a member of the elite of British Bridal Wear Retailers.

Later in the month Wedding Belles will be moving to new premises a little further up the road in Llanfair P. G., Diane and Fiona are going that much further with the service they provide.
