‘Heledd’ Exclusive Design at New Premises 07.04.2003

Heledd is truly a Wedding Belle

Wedding Belles, the Anglesey bridal wear retailer, have launched their first exclusive wedding dress. In beautiful pale ivory made from supreme silk with a silk satin fold detail, the dress was designed by Diane Roberts, proprietor and Fiona Roberts, manager.

The dress was revealed at a party held to celebrate the opening of their premises on Wednesday 2^nd April 2003. The idea unfolded, following Diane and Fiona’s visit to The British Bridal Fair in March; they searched every supplier and could not find exactly what they had in mind. “We have been discussing this dress for a long time and both had a feel for how it should look,” says Diane. Winning the award for ‘Best Web Site Design’ (www.anglesey-belles.co.uk) gave Diane the confidence to put pen to paper with designer Shelagh M. to discuss exactly what they wanted.

The dress is called ‘Heledd’, after Diane’s daughter. Shelagh says that the design sums up the style of Wedding Belles, “It is elegant and sophisticated yet beautifully simple.” Diane invited Shelagh to open the shop and celebrate the growing success of Wedding Belles.The dress was only in the shop days when a bride knew that it was the dress for her, “to get a brides approval is the best complement,” knows Diane.

Diane’s decision to move premises was prompted by a need for more space, “The business is growing and I did not want to open another outlet. So when bigger premises became available in Llanfair P.G. we decide it was time to design a new shop.” The building was derelict so with the assistance of a commercial improvement grant from Anglesey C.C. and a refurbishment grant from the WDA, Wedding Belles moved down the road.

The location is just right, “I have brides travelling to see us, because Llanfair is a nice place to visit, and we offer such choice and service.mI recently helped a bride who travelled from the Netherlands because of our range,” said Diane. The new premises boasts 15 metres of rail space in stock; dress sizes from 12 to 26, shoe sizes from 2 to 9, bridesmaids collections, handbags, headdress and jewellery. Fiona says that, “This shop has two fitting rooms to give fittings and individual service to our very own Wedding Belles.” For additional information please contact:
