Belles of the ball Award at British Bridal Wear Awards 2004

Wedding Belles, the Anglesey bridal wear retailer, have brought home another award from the British Bridal Wear Awards 2004. Last year they won ‘Best Web Site’ this year they have won ‘Best Window Display’. It is a great achievement for a small independent business to compete and be recognised by the bridal wear industry.

The proprietor of Wedding Belles, Diane Roberts, says, “After last year’s success, winning the award for ‘Best Web Site Design’ and this year winning ‘Best Window Display’, we are thrilled to have ‘done the double’.”

The ‘Best Window Display’ award focused on the links between window and in-store displays, themes promoting an event or season, regular changes including accessories and the creative use of materials to produce a window story.

Judge Ian Stuart, who is the Bridal Designer of the year says, “The clever use of photography as a backdrop really works. Wedding Belles takes advantage of the changing seasons and totally transforms itself according to the time of year or a particular theme.” Diane and her manager Fiona Roberts change the window display in their Llanfair shop every week to keep them fresh and ensure that same theme is echoed throughout all windows and in store displays.

Stuart Hall and sponsor Tim Oliver, Director of ‘Propress Steamers’ presented the award. Tim says, “We are proud to give the award to Wedding Belles. Our steamers are important to our customers. It assists in the creation and presentation of award winning window displays as well as day to day presentation of wedding dresses ensuring the bride always looks her best.”

The range and creativity of the window designs secured the award for Wedding Belles. Diane says, “Our window displays are all part of the Wedding Belles treatment and it’s a style that locals, customers and even tourists to the area have come to expect and appreciate.”
