Wedding Belles, the Anglesey bridal wear retailer, has taken the cancer awareness slogan ‘Think Pink’ to heart this year by dressing their shop windows with the pinkest collection of gowns possible. The proprietor of Wedding Belles, Diane Roberts, says, “Many lives are touched in some way by breast cancer and we love being able to think pink rather that white!” Wedding Belles will be selling the special pink ribbons and are hoping to raise awareness in the local community. Diane says that, “Having a 20 year nursing and midwifery background I am delighted to help raise awareness and funds for such a worthy cause. The shop looks great it may give you inspiration for the ‘Making Strides Walk’.” This year’s walk takes place at The Pier, Colwyn Bay on 31st October 2004 start 12 noon and covers 6km or 10km. Held on Halloween it is expected that many pink wizards, witches even pink brides will turn up. Further details on the sponsored event can be obtained from Cancer Research UK on 01745 360 060 or www.cancer.org.uk.
