Flowers

Every wedding needs flowers. There are the bride’s and bridesmaids’ bouquets, buttonholes and corsages for the rest of the wedding party, flowers for the ceremony & reception venues and bouquets for the bride and groom’s mothers at the end of the reception. You are unlikely to be able to do all this yourself and most people engage a florist to deal with this. You need to investigate floristry services well in advance, particularly as they tend to be very busy during the summer months. You should ask to see examples of their work and be prepared to discuss exactly what you want. You may well find that your choice of flowers is limited by what is available at the time of year when you intend to marry and by the colour scheme you choose. You should let the florist know the time at which you will marry so that the flowers will be delivered in time.

After the event, you may wish to have your bouquet preserved. You should arrange this in advance as the work needs to be carried out quickly before the flowers fade.
