  • Pilot can have the helicopter airborne within 3 minutes of receiving an emergency call.
  • Aircraft can travel at 140mph – over 2 miles per minute – reaching most parts of Wales within 20 minutes.
  • 40% to serious road traffic collisions
  • Treatment within the ‘Golden Hour’ improves the chance of patient survival / recovery
  • Helicopter has the capacity to carry 1 pilot, 2 paramedics and 2 patients.
  • CAERNARFON is one of the BUSIEST AIR AMBULANCES IN THE UK.
  • Missions flown from Swansea and Caernarfon – 1000 each year.
  • costs set to soar in 2009 to £4 million, with the mandatory upgrade to NEW GENERATION AIRCRAFT
