Wedding Belles Acclaimed Window Displays
Wedding Belles, the Anglesey bridal wear retailer, has been commended again by the panel of distinguished judges at the Bridal Buyer Awards. Wedding Belles has been told that they are one of the three finalists in the category of ‘Best Window Display’.
The annual Bridal Buyer Awards are fast becoming the industry’s measure of top performers, encompassing not only design excellence and, importantly, recognition of new talent. The winner of ‘Best Window Display’ will be announced Monday 15th March, at the Bridal Awards Dinner in Harrogate.
The proprietor of Wedding Belles, Diane Roberts, says, “After last year’s success, winning the award for ‘Best Web Site Design’ we know what to expect and it is making us very nervous.” The black tie event, at The Majestic Hotel in Harrogate, will be compered by comedian Stuart Hall and attended by the leading figures of the bridal industry.
“We have been asked to send photographs to the competition organisers as images of the winners are displayed on large plasma screens,” says Diane. “We were so excited last year when we won that I can hardly remember anything about the ceremony itself. It was so exciting.”
Diane and her manager Fiona Roberts change the window display in their Llanfair shop every week. “It was hard to decide which pictures of our window designs we would submit for the competition.” They decided on; ‘Piccione’ designer display, ‘In the Pink’ Cancer Awareness window, ‘Shelagh M’ designer display and a Christmas wedding in burgundy and ivory around the tree.
Derek Thorpe, Area Territory Manager for Alfred Angelo says, “I would give the Piccione display 100 out of 100, we are really pleased with the close relationship we have with Wedding Belles. The window was fantastic.”
The shop regularly has callers who just want to tell Diane how much they like the displays. Diane says, “We once had a lady stop to tell us she was looking at Wedding Belles beautiful display rather than the road nearly crashed her BMW.” It will be no accident if Wedding Belles win ‘Best Window Display’ this year as Diane and Fiona put a lot of energy and enthusiasm into their displays.
